It is starting to get cold out and people are starting to talk about chili or stew! Here is a recipe I threw together today that turned out pretty good!
2 pounds of stew meat
1 cup of cubed turnips
1 cup up celery – chopped
2 cups of green beans
2- 8 oz cans of tomato sauce
3 cups of water
1 cup of onions, chopped
2 Tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper to taste
Directions: Put water, sauce, onions, green beans, turnips, and celery in crock pot. Turn on high.
In a pan, put the olive oil and then brown the meat on all sides. Keep juices drained so meat browns correctly.
DO NOT ADD FLOUR! Then add meat to crock pot. Add seasons to your taste. Cook for 8 hours.
