Did you know that vitamin D in not only a vitamin but it is a hormone!? It plays a roll in remarkable range of body processes! A study was done a few years ago by Shalamar Sibley, M.D of the University of Minnesota where she found that people who had adequate levels of Vitamin D in their systems lost weight at a better rate then those that had a D deficiency. Other researchers are calling vitamin D our special ops agent in the war against body fat. Another study found that people who consumed more dietary vitamin D had less belly fat than people who ate less. Are you vitamin D deficient? They have found that more then a third of the men in America are deficient and about 50% have sub-optimal levels. Another benefit is, it seems, people report that they are sick less often. In fact, some have said they had colds every winter and spring until they started taking vitamin D supplements. Now they don’t catch colds!
