Basically we follow a low carb, adequate protein diet using real food under a doctor’s supervision! It is amazing what I have been reading from folks talking about how this kind of diet has changed their lives. I mean, look at me! I lost 300 pounds and don’t suffer from sleep apnea, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and have the ability to do anything I want to now! I personally know people who have started on the program with diabetes who have reversed the disease and no longer have to take shots! Check out this post!
I asked several months ago about low-carb diet for cancer because my SO was dealing with his 3rd bout of squamous-cell lung cancer that did not respond to chemo, I asked how many carbs per day he should limit himself to. Dr Robert Su kindly answered my post, (THANK YOU SO MUCH!) The update is that less than a year after going low-carb and several months of extreme low-carb, his cancer did not advance and after 3 targeted, high-dose radiation treatments, we got the news that he is now in full remission! The doctor’s of course pooh-pooh the nutrition aspect of his treatment, but people just DO NOT go into remission on the 3rd recurrence of this kind of cancer! Low-carb forever in this house!
More and more information is being put out by reputable organizations pointing us in this direction. Here is one just out by Harvard School of Public Health that told a convention of restaurant owners that they must stop thinking low fat! After years of thinking low fat (and where has that gotten us besides fatter), it will be hard to switch our mind set from low fat to low carb. But it can be done!
